Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway and Pictures

Hello crafters!  It's another giveaway day today and I have chosen a silver and white (very traditional) card for the offer.  I stamped the Holly Swirl background by Justrite on to our new vintage silver card using a Clear Perfect Medium pad.  I heat embossed it with True White powder.  Next I cut an aperture in the centre using the Tranquil Moments die.  I added mounting foam to the back of my background to raise it.  I cut another Tranquil Moment die out of coconut white card, then recessed it down into the matching aperture. ( Note that you could cut the shape first saving you having to cut it twice, then stamp, but I find that more difficult as sometimes I stamp wonky.) I stamped my sentiment on coconut white card and embossed it in silver.  I cut it out with the Elegant Ovals and mounted it in the middle of my recessed die.  I tied a messy bow out of silver seam binding, added some silver cord and a silver satin ribbon rose.  I made two matching stick pins to finish off the bow embellishment.  The remainder of the card was matted with white and silver and I pierced the inside white mat to add a framed look.  Finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x 7 1/2" in size.  Leave a comment to be included in the drawing for this card!

Scroll down to see some of the pictures from my recent demo in Haverfordwest, Wales.

Ben from SET Office Supplies in Haverfordwest organised a brilliant day complete with a ladies choir that sang me both the American National anthem and the Welsh National anthem!
The had both the Mayor of Haverfordwest and his wife and the Sherriff welcome me!
The town crier announced me to anyone walking by in the street ( a bit embarrassing but still good fun!)
A charming little girl with the cutest face and blonde ringlets gave me a bouquet of flowers!  Behind me is Lesley, who came all the way from Shields and helped out Ben in the shop for several days prior to the demo and helped me on the day.  She was fabulous!
This was the first of four sessions on the day.  They kept the group to around 30 people so I think everyone could see well, which was really nice.
The last few pics are of blog followers that came to the demo.  Ben arranged for them to come upstairs for lunch and a chat in between the demos.  This is Anne Riley Davies or Anne RD as you might know her on the blog.
Here I am with Heather Tom  (or cr@fty) and the lady with the glasses is Yvonne, she was the Mum of one of the SET employees named Deborah, who also helped me tidy up between demos (I am a messy crafter!)
Heather has been on my blog almost from the very beginning!

This is the lovely "P" in Wales, as you may know her, who is also a regular blog friend and leaves me lovely comments daily!
And finally Judy M here with me. It was a delight to meet so many blog friends and now finally be able to put faces with names!

I also met Jan Craven at the afternoon session but for some reason, I do not have a picture of her.

Talking about a small world, I met a gal (also named Judy) that is friends on Facebook with one of my best friends of over 20 years in California, Karen!  I hadn't mentioned to Karen that I was doing a demo in Wales, but she saw it on Judy's Facebook page!  How funny is that!

Julia Watts and I are leaving today for our road trip together so hopefully more pics next week!  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue
I am early today as they are turning off our electric for none hours here today for upgrading the system they say. We are going to see friends for a hot drink and some lunch as apart from oil for our heating we are stuck. The worst part is I won't be able to use anything much in my craft room, but I am sure I will survive.
A really beautiful card today and the colours are lovely, that background is really different I just everything about thi card.
Well, off to make another cup of coffee before everything goes off, at least it isn't winter. Lovely to see all of the photos and put faces to names, it looked a wonderful day.

It was lovely to see the photos and put faces to names. I'm still miffed that I can't get to Northallerton tomorrow (flippin work!!!), as it's probably the nearest place you will ever visit - unless you fancy a visit to the Yorkshire coast (hint, hint).
Gail - please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your brother. Just because something is expected does not make it any less devastating.
Love to all. Sue xxx

What a truly truly elegant gift today. As Pam says you spoil us. This is a gift I would cherish for ever and would always be on display all the year round.
I love your silver/white theme and the holly background is superb.
I have to say I'm glad it's not only me that sometimes stamps 'wonky'. You saying you do gives me more confidence.
I love the photos of your visit to 'the land of song' and it's absolutely wonderful to put faces to names. I always try to imagine how someone looks but never succeed so it's a real treat this morning to see some 'Wilsonette' sisters.
I am now looking forward to the release of your new dies. I'm saving my pennies so that I'm ready.
Sandra The maarket was wonderful today but the only thing I came back with was some covers for the kitchen chairs. I consider myself so very lucky that we have this beautiful little house and so can spend six months of each year here. We worked hard and saved and bought eight years before retirement. We have had our ups and downs and one or two health hickups and still have health issues - over the years but still consider outselves so very lucky.
Hope everyone is OK (you know on my sliding scale of OK). Take care and I'll see you tomorrow.

Hi Sue, stunning card , love the holly background stamp. Thanks for the photos looks like it was a great day for everyone. Take care travelling today and all the best for tomorrow. Lol lynne m x x x

Well most of yesterday was spent trying to locate Harry in the garden ( a tunnel as on the "Great Escape" film) whilst poochies looked on grinning from ear to ear as they played the game of "hot and cold" with me and every time they said cold I'm sure their chuckles got louder!!!. In the end gave up as it started to rain so indoors we came. Thunder began to rumble so Cully ( fraidycat) jumped up onto the settee to sit on my lap. Tilly just laid on the floor crunching on a toy bone. I asked her several times if she was ok and only got a blank look in response. I'm sure if a doggie phsyciatrist wanted to study Tilly and her brain activity it would take them years to sort out what goes on in her head!!!!!

Norah - I promise to let you know if I'm down there struggling to get back up again.

To all my friends here have a great day, hope the sun shines and if you see no sun in the sky may it still shine inside you x x x

Off now with poochies camouflaged ( any excuse to roll in the mud) ready to create an escape tunnel to rescue my partner in crime from the locked wards. HOLD ON NORAH WE'RE ON OUR WAY x x x x

Such an elegant card today, Sue, love it all. Looks as though the background is silver embossed though it is, of course, white embossed on silver. A clever stamp. Embellishment great too.

Have a great trip with Julia, Sue, and hope everyone enjoys their day at Northallerton as much as we did in Wales.

'P' in Wales

Yes, it was a splendid day at Haverfordwest, but only the first session people got to see the right royal welcome. Such fun.
The outfit (mine) OMG! Don't often buy 'proper clothes' as rural/lots of animals so live in sweatshirts and jeans. Well, bought this in an ethnic shop - big and baggy to hide the bulges as tend to have Cameeli moments when trying stuff on. However, had lost 20lbs since buying; himself hadn't seen it, so ready to go and I say - well then how is it? (expecting lamb/mutton/silly pockets comments) but he says is it maternity?!!! Didn't have time to get changed so there we are. Later he said his mother had worn something similar in the 60's when pregnant with his brother. He doesn't know when it's a good time to say no more!! LOL. Other than that, he is lovely. You gotta laugh!

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
Oh what a beautiful card that you have delighted us with today Sue. I love the softness of the colours with the soft colour of the embossing. I really love the holly background stamp, it is so pretty and delicate. I don't have the tranquil moments die as there were far more beautiful and versatile dies that came on the market from yourself at the time and afraid head and heart ruled in favour of them.
Wow, thank you for putting up the pictures of your Haverford West trip. I see all the stops were pulled out for our Queen of Craft with the mayor and the sheriff being out to greet you and the town cryer, well what more could we ask for. The beautiful voices of a true Welsh choir and it would be just amazing hearing them singing your own national anthem as well as the Welsh. What a fantastic time you must have had and that wee scone with the beautiful blonde curls, she looks like she was dressed in the Welsh national dress apart from no hat, what a cutie pie. Oh it is so lovely to see in the flesh(well as near as we can in the flesh) to meet our blog friends. Thank you ladies, as you have just brought a happy smile to my face as now i can actually see you when i read the blog. Please carry on your winding journey safely and i hope you can enjoy some of the surrounding countryside on your way. I know that motorways(interstates for Sue) are the fastest way, it misses out on the beautiful country and the old fashioned wee places that still exist and are such a lovely reminder of time gone bye.
Tres i'm sorry you are going through such a hard time at the moment flower.I do hope that the subside into better days soon for you.
Myra P, In the early days i used to silently groan just at the thought of him DIYing as i knew it was going to be disasterous and daren't say anything because it would be one mega falling out for a week. But time a patience has turned him into actually quite good handyman(after seeing some of the experts)he's fantastic, i just wish he would finish one off at a time.
What a glorious day we are having up here at the Ochils, with the sky so blue and my hills seem to have a determined to stand out and be seen in all their glory look on them today as they are stunning. We have got the wee man on the sit on brushes machine sweeping the pavement, this is something very new to Glenochil as we are in the land of the forgotten, so it is nice for someone to find there way here.
Oh Lynne, if you and the pooches can have Harry ready for next Tuesday so that i can get up to see Sue in Glasgow, oh boy am i excited(6 more sleeps), so looking forward to it.
See you all tomorrow hopefully, with gentle hugs going to our absent friends, our fragile friends and any that is just needing that wee bit of comfort, of some understanding.
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Morning Sue, well it was when I started ! Attempt #3 !!! Site keeps crashing, must be your give away day that does it and why not, its beautiful. Good luck to you ALL.
Im thrilled that now you MUST realise just how much you are admired Sue after the wonderful heartfelt Welsh welcome you received, and if anyone deserves it, it's YOU. Im sure the warm, friendly and funny Yorkshire ladies will be just as wonderful (just remember 2 words - Ay Up) lol and have a fab time xx
I adore white/silver together and use it on very special cards as well as C cards, so when my body lets me I shall go order the new silver card and the tranquilty die from my little local craft shop.
Keep local craft shops going is my motto : )

Gail C - wish I could wipe the tears for you Friday and hold you close. The lyrics of Bill Withers - Lean On Me say volumes xx
I shall be thinking of you on this most difficult day.

Yesterday was a blur from 2pm but today is another day, and tomorrow will be better (another motto of mine) ! No point in maudling when nothing changes - right ?
So, after saying that, I send all of you hugs if you find today to hard to cope with, tomorrow is another day.
Love you.
Lancashire Steph xx

Hi Sue,

Love today's card and ordered that stamp before I left home as I re- watched some of your shows while ironing!
Norah - your Ochils are beautiful today - they are a sort of purple/blue standing out against a lovely blue sky. No clouds having a rest on them today!
Pam - not mentioned you for a few days but still thinking of you and Robbie. Pleased to hear any little sign of progress. You be careful hopping about! x
Cameeli - just read about the interview - crumbs! Hope you get good news.
Steph - do hope today is a much better day! You will like the silver card. I haven't used it as yet but it is like the gold one only silver! Last sentence is a bit daft - hope you get the gist! x
Love to all the other lovely ladies on the blog!
Hope tomorrow goes well in Northallerton . Love to Sue and Julia and all the blog friends who are going.x
Please come to the northwest, Sue! x
Don't want to cause an international incident - but I think the Scottish Parliament building must be one of the ugliest I've ever seen! It's surrounded by lovely buildings steeped in history. Ugh!
